3DS Games: The Best Ones to Try on Your Nintendo 3DS Console

3ds games - man playing zelda on nintendo 3ds

The Nintendo 3DS is a fascinating portable console.

From its inception back in 2011, the device has been a constant cornerstone for the video game giant, and rightfully so. The console is home to the best of Nintendo’s software, all playable on-the-go, and with gimmicky 3D effects.

It seems crazy to think that even in the world of mobile games and smartphones dominating the portable gaming market that a company can be successful with a standalone console, but Nintendo has done just that. The Nintendo 3DS has sold over 72 million units in its lifetime, which is certainly impressive. Along with system, 3DS games have been purchased at a near 5:1 ratio, with nearly 365 million titles being sold since its release.

Nintendo New 3DS XL - Black

How does the console sell so many games? Well, for starters, 3DS games can be impressive feats of design. Even though you may think of random Disney-based or puzzle games at first thought, the 3DS is home to some of Nintendo’s best software.

If you haven’t experienced the 3DS in all its glory, the time has never been better to pick up a console. With the 2DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, New Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS, or New Nintendo 2DS to choose from, there are plenty of options in picking the right system to pair with your new backlog of games to play.

There Are So Many 3DS Games, and Picking the Best is Tough

Nintendo New 3DS XL - Black
  • C Stick for enhanced controls.Built-in amiibo compatibility and NFC support.
  • Faster processing power than Nintendo 3DS and Face tracking 3D.
  • Plays all Nintendo 3DS games.

Across all regions that you can find and play a Nintendo 3DS, there are 1279 games that have been released for the console.

Of course, a lot of these were Japanese-only titles that can’t be found outside of the company’s home, but still speaks volumes about the software developed for the console. There have been some great 3DS games released in the past 7 years, which we’ll get to, but also plenty of bad apples.

The best software allows you hours of fun when on the go, or even while sitting in bed. When there are stories to be uncovered or mysteries to be solved, you know the game has sucked you in. Thankfully, almost every genre of game can be found on the Nintendo 3DS, allowing something for everyone. Even if you don’t like JRPGs, or absolutely adore simulation-style titles, the 3DS probably has something for you.

This all said, it can be a difficult task to pick the best games to ever release on a single console, but rest assured that every game on this list is here for a reason.

Our Picks for the Top 7 3DS Games

Sale
Super Smash Bros. - Nintendo 3DS
  • Battle it out as Nintendo's greatest heroes
  • Nintendo's greatest heroes are in the palm of your hand
  • Take the fight with you, wherever you go

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS delivers a stellar fighting experience. While some don’t think of the combat-based game as a true fighter, the title is a definitive Nintendo title. The release on the 3DS provided fine-tuning to the overall gameplay and presentation, giving fans and new players reasons to play the game, and the introduction of amiibo helped keep the community alive long-after the game’s release. One of the ultimate party games, still to this day even.

Kid Icarus: Uprising
  • Pit returns in an all new adventure only for the Nintendo 3DS
  • Collect special AR cards(6 AR Cards) to interact with characters from the game using the 3D cameras and AR software on the system
  • Difficulty slider allows players of a range of skill levels to enjoy the Kid Icarus experience

If the idea of Nintendo continuing popular or dormant franchises on their portable console didn’t resonate with you before, it should now. There are plenty of games that Nintendo brought back to life with a new release on the 3DS, ultimately boosting interest in the title and the 3DS games at hand.

One series that was ultimately forgotten until the hero, Pit, was playable in Super Smash Bros., Kid Icarus: Uprising looked to change that narrative. The first game in the series since 1991, Uprising had a lot to live up to. It was tasked with revitalizing a franchise, all while appealing to a new audience.

Kid Icarus: Uprising

In short, it did this well.

Half on-the-rails shooter, half third-person action-adventure game, the title gave you ample room to develop and hone your skills to its combat system. Some may argue that the game was too difficult, especially regarding the funky controls, but the rewards are worth it. The clever and deep combat makes a great challenge, once properly learned, and the story wraps up in a way that provides insight into the world of angelic characters.

Mario Kart 7
  • Players can compete in local wireless matches or online over a broadband Internet connection.
  • The game supports both SpotPass and StreetPass features.Compatible with the 3DS
  • Players can show their own style by customizing their vehicles with accessories that give them a competitive advantage. For instance, giant tires help a kart drive off-road, while smaller tires work best on city courses.

Good old Mario Kart. What would we do without you?

Really, it’s hard to imagine a time where Nintendo’s kart-racing experience wasn’t around. The 3DS version of the popular racer, which was only available on the Nintendo 3DS, showed that you didn’t need the newest graphics or most powerful console to have great software.

No, you simply need Mario and friends racing against each other while throwing bananas at one another.

Mario Kart 7

In Mario Kart 7, the formula was innovated just enough to please the series’ long-time fans. It’s kart-racing made portable and in full 3D, providing fun for long and short periods alike. The fact that you could team up with friends and foes across the world (or right in your living room) and throw down to a race was akin to the Super Smash Bros. series, and made it easy to jump in and out of races.

While it may not hold up to the newest Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart 7 still has a following.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
  • An ancient evil has doomed the world of Termina. Can you save it in just three days?
  • Together, the land of Termina and its citizens form one massive puzzle for Link to solve
  • 20 plus powerful masks make this one of the most varied Legend of Zelda games ever

Speaking of Majora’s Mask, what better way to segue into the series’ darkest iteration? A huge step in the different direction following the stellar Ocarina of Time before it in 2000 on Nintendo 64, Majora’s Mask is still praised for its mature narrative and inventive gameplay.

What’s interesting about a re-release for a game that was 15 years old, the new title improves the graphics and performance of the whole experience. It may sound odd, but playing through Majora’s Mask 3D is better on the 3DS than the original on N64. There are reworked bosses throughout the game to create a better feeling, overall, and presentation has been revamped into the modern era.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D

Not much else needs to be said about a game that was already great many years ago, so we’ll leave it up to you to discover everything. Sometimes it’s hard for gamers to accept a new paint job on their old, beloved car, but in this case, it’s what Majora’s Mask needed to reappear among the great. It’s a great addition to 3DS games.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf
  • Create your own happy place - As the mayor, you get to make the big decisions that shape your town. Add new features, decide which facilities get built, change shop hours and more to let you experience Animal Crossing however you like.
  • New discoveries await every day - Time passes in Animal Crossing just like it does in the real world, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. No two days are the same, with things happening at all hours and events happening throughout the year.
  • Decorate your house inside and out - Choose from furniture new and old, carpets, wallpaper, and enhanced design tools to customize your house inside. Choose from new house layouts and remodel your home's exterior as well. Change the outside wall, the fence, your mailbox, and more to change the look of your house completely. Living in a castle is not just a dream in Animal Crossing.

A fan-favorite in terms of Nintendo properties, the Animal Crossing series is known for its charming characters and cute worlds.

New Leaf is nothing different, in that regard, as the life simulation titles finally found their way onto the 3DS with the latest full-title. There are a few new ideas built-in to New Leaf, giving the series life on the road.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf

If you’re not familiar with the series, most of the story involves you creating a character and moving to a new town somewhere along an island. In this case, you’re the mayor of the said new town, giving you immense control over the people and enterprise within. In addition to the standard villagers and laid-back personalities that greet you at every turn, you’ll be able to place town buildings and decorations. Yes, you can still fish and create your own home to live in, but everything has a little more weight than before.

With New Leaf, you can even travel to the Tropical Island, which hasn’t been seen in the series since its GameCube days. Overall, this title represents something that most video games don’t often emulate: the fact that playing a game can be a truly relaxing and rewarding experience all in one.

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright - Nintendo 3DS Birthright Edition
  • Two kingdoms are on the brink of war. Whose side will you choose?
  • Torn between two families, you're an heir of Hoshido, raised by Nohrian royals.
  • If you walk the path of Birthright, you'll battle the corrupted king of Nohr beside a family of strangers.

You may notice that the next game on our list follows a long-running Nintendo franchise. This time, it’s Fire Emblem getting the treatment.

What makes Fire Emblem Fates so special is that it’s two games wrapped together in one story. On the one hand there is Fire Emblem Conquest, and the other being Fire Emblem Birthright. Both deliver one-half of the story in question, made partially in response to the previous 3DS game’s simplistic narrative. The complex story is presented wonderfully, and anyone should be able to find a theme to latch onto regarding war.

Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest - Nintendo 3DS
Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright - Nintendo 3DS Birthright Edition

Both are still your ever-great tactical strategy game that the series is known for, this time with added features. These games go deeper than ever seen in any Fire Emblem title before it, specifically with romantic relationships and base-building mechanics. Each title represents something different for you, as the player, depending on how familiar you are with the series.

This is a great approach to 3DS games, in terms of choice at hand for the players, and once you’ve experienced a full-playthrough of either Conquest or Birthright you’ll understand why this Japanese and European-flavored series is here to stay.

  • Games in 2D. Some areas also playable in 3D.

The seventh-generation Pokémon games did more than just introduce new ways to play the series’ core games, it completely changed the dynamic of how a Pokémon game worked.

In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, the series’ standard of two versions that played similarly, but not the same, was still front and present. But, the way you completed your rise from a young boy or girl excited about Pokémon to becoming the Pokémon champion was now completely different.

Pokémon Sun - Nintendo 3DS
Pokémon Moon - Nintendo 3DS

Gone were the days of gym leaders and battles, and introduced were Trials. Weird at first, these new events provided some much-needed change to the stagnated story of battling the eight gyms to make the Pokémon League. Also, the series now stands at a staggering 807 known Pokémon, which is a far cry from the original 151.

Ash Ketchum’s story has come a long way.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3D
  • An all-new adventure in the world of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • Become a living painting to slide within walls and between two dimensions at war
  • Sink into the classic, top-down world of Zelda with 3D visuals at 60 FPS

While the title may be a bit of a pun, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds shows
us what some of the best 3DS games look like when providing a sequel to an older title.

A Link Between Worldsis one of the most critically-acclaimed titles on the Nintendo 3DS, and once played it’s easy to see why. Pleasing both the people who had played A Link to the Past and newcomers alike, the game featured a transportation mechanic that allowed you to switch between 2D and 3D. This created some of the best puzzle-solving ever found on a portable console, paired with satisfying dungeons that rival the series’ best, it’s easy to hold A Link Between Worlds in such high regard.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 3D

This is a title that is considered a must-own, and even though the combat is simple to learn, everything you do is rewarding. The overall quest is a deeper story than you might expect–though maybe not as intense as Majora’s Mask was—from a pastel-colored game, and delivers clever ideas on topics.

The game is a definitive experience, and overall, it’s a must-play title.

3DS Games Are Great, and Still Hold Up

Despite what you might think, the Nintendo 3DS has stellar games. 3DS games are often written off as childish or non-substantive affairs, but some of the best-ever Nintendo games can be found on their seven-year-old system.

It may seem odd that Nintendo would continue to support a dying game market, at the expense of mobile gaming on smartphones, but they’ve recently shown they can balance both, together.

Sure, nowadays you have graphically-advanced titles and VR, but does any of that compare to helping Link save Zelda in new ways, or building your own animal town and fishing for relaxation? Not exactly apples and oranges, the 3DS does, however, bring with
it software that should be experienced by everyone who’s into gaming.

If you don’t own your own 3DS, see if you can borrow a friend’s or pick-up an older model used. Once you have a 3DS in your hand and are playing Nintendo classics, it will be hard to imagine a time when you didn’t have access to these great games.

Lenovo Laptops: The Latest and the Best Models in the Market Today

lenovo laptops

Who do you think is the world’s number one PC maker? Dell or HP, maybe Apple?

What if the answer is none of the above? That’s right, the number one PC manufacturer in the world is Lenovo. The Chinese company that’s been around for 33 years now is the biggest PC giant around the globe, and there is a reason for it. They’re one of the most trusted companies when it comes to hardware, and have plenty of business acquisitions to prove
it.

Their primary business, as mentioned, is computers, and even bigger is the laptop development. Why should you buy a Lenovo laptop? Just because they’re the largest, doesn’t make them the best. While this can be the case, to understand Lenovo, you first should understand their creations. Lenovo’s business-based laptops are IBM-branded machines, as the company acquired the business-giant in 2005. They have seven major models of laptops, giving you freedom of choice when determining a computer for your needs.

Today, we’ll look at the top models of Lenovo laptops, in hopes of finding for you the right machine for the task at hand, as well as price. There are plenty to choose from, each serving a unique function. It can be overwhelming at first when searching for a new computer, but this list should be a solid start.

What Makes Any Lenovo Laptop the Best?

Lenovo IdeaPad 720s Laptop, 15.6-Inch Touchscreen Laptop (Intel Core...

Sometimes, it’s hard to find the best product a company offers. Especially when talking about laptops, the many models often feel convoluted and contrived together, making the end-game harder to find.

However, with Lenovo laptops, the company tries to make this process a little more straightforward. Because they have specific model line names, it can sometimes aid in sifting through all the released machines. The IdeaPad, ThinkCentre, ThinkPad, and Yoga lines all represent something different to you, the consumer, so understanding the difference between those is a good start.

There is also the issue of price.

While the best laptops often cost more than the cheaper, made-to-fail ones, this doesn’t mean you can’t find a well-made laptop for under $1000. Price and performance are key factors in determining the best Lenovo laptops. You’ll want the computer to perform, and to do so it must be up to par with the rest of the market.

The biggest distinguisher between all of Lenovo’s machines, though, will fall to features. Items such as pen support, expanded battery life, and weight will factor in to the decision. Everything must come together in a solid package, so skimping on product materials isn’t
preferred. All of this will determine the best laptops made by Lenovo.

So, without further ado, let’s dive in.

Lenovo Yoga 730 13 - 13.3" Touch FHD - i5-8250u - 8GB - 256GB SSD -...
  • 8th Gen Intel Quad-Core i5-8250U Processor (1.6Ghz, turbo boost up to 3.4GHz, 6MB Cache), Intel UHD Graphics 620
  • 13.3" Full HD 10-point Multitouch Screen (1920x1080), Windows 10 Operating System
  • 8GB System Memory for Advanced Multitasking, 256GB Solid State Drive, DVD/CD Drive not Included

While there is a bigger sibling to the 700 line of Lenovo laptops, the basic 700 series still stand out in the crowd.

If you don’t need a super-premium device, the 700 series is an easy way to compromise. Starting at just around $880, the 13.3-inch Yoga 730 can complete most functions you’d want, survive the day doing so, and will have enough features to satisfy your needs.

Sometimes, companies get so far ahead of themselves they lose track of the good quality devices they’ve already created. With the Yoga 730, Lenovo decided to play it safe. Instead of a true redesign of the laptop, they took the car manufacturer approach and updated the existing model with little changes. The biggest are the new, eighth generation Intel processors, a bigger 256GB SSD, and Thunderbolt ports.

There are little touches, too, like the fact that you can call on Amazon Alexa services. It does seem like every device is now being tailored to a voice-assistant service, and the Yoga 730 is no different. One of the best reasons to consider the Yoga computers is due to their size: at only 2.7 pounds and half an inch thick, it’s an easy-to-tote laptop.

Overall, the Lenovo Yoga 730 is the perfect companion to work or for school, and should be enough to make you happy.

  • Intel Core i7 processor, 2.6 GHz
  • 8GB DDR3 SDRAM
  • 14" OLED 2K touch screen display

This is the most expensive laptop on our list, and in doing so has some of the best features for the ultimate business-class 2-in-1.

When you need the best, it often comes for a premium. Starting at $1400, with the top model at about $1680, this machine is loaded with performance and features, justifying the price. To be clear, this is a Lenovo laptop aimed at the professional-level, or for the serious tech-minded person.

Let’s start with the cool features: you’re able to wake up the computer with your voice, due to Amazon Alexa support and Microsoft’s Cortana integration. You also have self-encrypting SSDs to protect you and your work, ThinkStutter, which is technology that covers the webcam when necessary, and a fingerprint reader. The higher model, which is preferred, comes with an eighth-generation vPro Core i7 processor, along with the world’s first Dolby Vision HDR display.

You might think the battery life would suffer with all this technology, but it doesn’t.

Rated for 15 hours, the real-world battery testing delivers about eight hours of usable life. That’s not a deal breaker for most, but should be noted. The laptop can, however, charge to 80% capacity in just one hour, delivering quick-charge technology that’s rarely seen in portable devices. It’s made to handle 12 different military-grade requirements, and built to last. The keyboard is specifically designed with comfort in mind for long work sessions, and the keys even pull into the base of the laptop when folded into tablet-mode.

If you want some of the best color and screen-fidelity out there, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga should be on your radar. It has the under-the-hood performance to back up the screen, coming with a massive 1 TB SSD and Windows 10 Pro.

The first official Lenovo laptop, not 2-in-1, on the list, the Lenovo Ideapad 530S should offer enough performance-to-price ratio for most, and even has discrete graphics if you want the device to double as a gaming computer.

To start with, you’ll notice that, from a distance that the laptop is made with aluminum materials rather than plastic. Most mid-budget computers don’t get the metal treatment until you cross over the $800 mark, so it’s nice to see it in the $750 price bracket here. The overall device is 3.7 pounds and about three-quarters of an inch thick, meaning it won’t completely weigh you down on your back.

This Lenovo laptop is powered by the same eighth-generation Intel Core processors, and has both a 1 TB HDD and 128 GB SSD. This combination provides excellent bang for the buck as you get both speed and storage in one. The screen is your standard IPS, full-HD with anti-glare fare. Even so, it’s solid at 14 inches.

Lenovo Ideapad 530S 14-Inch Laptop (Intel Core i7-8550U, 8GB RAM,...

The discrete graphics mentioned before aren’t going to run the latest first-person shooters at Ultra settings, but the NVIDIA GeForce MX130 with 2 GB of dedicated memory should deliver performance that’s about two-times better than your standard integrated Intel graphics. The card is also power efficient, so light gaming won’t drain your machine.

The battery should last about nine hours with moderate usage, and even with options like Dolby Audio and the fingerprint reader turned on won’t kill the lights by mid-day. Overall, this Lenovo Laptop has everything most would want in a computer, and, while it’s not the slimmest or sleekest out there, still houses an attractive design and price.

Lenovo Legion Y730 Gaming Laptop
  • 17.3" FHD (1920 x 1080, 300 nits) IPS Anti-Glare

Looking for a sleek new gaming machine but don’t want the computer to scream it’s a gaming-oriented device? Lenovo’s new Legion Y730 has you covered.

This is the newest mid-range gaming laptop from Lenovo. It starts with a moderate asking price of around $1180, and is available in a 17-inch screen for serious screen real estate. Some are often discouraged when looking at the bigger gaming laptops due to dimensions and weight, but the Y730 manages to keep these in check. In fact, the weight clocks in at only 6.4 pounds, and is less than one-inch thick, making it relatively light for the class.

Most staples in gaming laptops are plastic chassis, but Lenovo has chosen the route of an aluminum body, giving a premium feel to the laptop. It also makes the device more durable when hauling it around day-to-day. The overall aesthetic combines professional use with gaming, a feature some will appreciate.

Lenovo Legion Y730 Gaming Laptop

Outside, the keyboard is the standard soft touch, but also contains Corsair mapping and lighting technology, giving you the freedom to customize the keyboard how you see fit. The Y730 also has Dolby Atmos audio employed in the design, creating nicer sound detail.

The only real downside here is that the best graphics card configuration is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, which, while good enough for casual-to-moderate gaming, won’t necessarily power through the newest AAA games at 1080p.

For a non-budget breaking gaming laptop though, the Y730 should fill all of your on-the-go gaming needs.

Lenovo Yoga 920 2-in-1 Ultrabook Laptop, 13.9in FHD IPS Touchscreen,...
  • 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U mobile processor; 8GB system memory; 256GB solid state drive (SSD); Intel UHD Graphics 620
  • 13.9" touch screen for hands-on control; 1920 x 1080 native resolution. IPS technology. LED backlight.
  • Windows 10 Home operating system.

The premium of the premium in terms of the company’s Yoga line, these Lenovo laptops comes featured packed and ready to perform.

There are two models in the 900 series, with one main version readily produced and sold around the globe, and one that’s only available on Lenovo.com.

The former is the Lenovo 920. This laptop looks and feels like a premium device, that’s equipped to power through any task. To start off, the machine only weighs in at three pounds, making it easy to carry around throughout the day. The first device to really embrace the 2-in-1 category, the Lenovo Yoga 920 does have full touch-screen support, and a screen that flips 360-degrees around.

The device also has enough connection ports to maximize its support for outside products. The bigger, full-HD screen is made from an IPS panel, giving the computer wide viewing angles so you and others can easily see content together. The keyboard was redone from the previous Yoga 910, and provides an ample update in the full-size shift key, one that creates fewer typing errors.

Lenovo Yoga 920 2-in-1 Ultrabook Laptop, 13.9in FHD IPS Touchscreen,...

The price may throw people off initially, as the base model starts at $1300 MSRP and can jump to around $1750 for the fully decked-out version, but remember: You’re paying for one of the best laptops around. Most of the added features of the higher-end model come down to a 4K screen, bigger SSD installed, and more onboard memory, or RAM.

Overall, the standard Yoga 920 will be the perfect Lenovo laptop for most, and can be further enhanced with optional configurations to really fit any need. Being only half an inch thick, it’s small and ready to go anywhere you do.

Laser Printers – The Best Models Manufactured by Brother

laser printers

It’s the digital era – who prints anything anymore? A lot of people, as it turns out, and you never know when you won’t be able to show something on a mobile device and requires a hard copy.

If you’re in an office or professional environment, you’ll still need access to a printer to handle a day’s work full of documents and correspondence. Brother is one of the most well known printer manufacturers on the market today, and we’re going to show you ten of the best Brother printers to help you decide which is the right printer for you.

Why Do We Still Need Printers?

printer

Even as digital overtakes physical in all forms of media, there will never be a total replacement for printed paper and ink. Visit any doctor’s office, law firm, or government branch and you’ll inevitably be asked to sign something which must be retained on paper. They might digitize the same document that you signed, but you can be sure that a hard copy will be retained just in case the database becomes corrupted or must be witnessed later.

What Type of Printer Should I Buy?

This is going to depend on the location of the printer, along with your personal reason for investing in one. If you just need it for correspondence and printing records of your signed documents, a simple inkjet printer will do fine – in fact, you might not even need to bother with a color printer, and it will save you a bit of money in the process!

If you want to print photos on a specific type of high-quality paper, there are printers that specialize in photo reproduction. For professional environments where documents have to be printed in mass quantities at high rates, you’ll want to think about using a laser printer. These are going to be much more expensive, but they’ll be worth it when you don’t have to wait minutes for one document to come out of the printer.

Where Should I Buy a Printer?

amazon logo
newegg logo

Printers are still available at large retailers such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Fry’s. If you’re not interested in looking at one in person, online retailers like Amazon and NewEgg stock a wide variety of printers.

Most of the time, you can find rebates and offers for financing or free shipping, and in some cases, you’ll be able to avoid paying sales tax. eBay is another option for finding a printer, as long as you pay close attention to the feedback profile of a vendor and ensure that you’re being sold a quality item.

Reviewing Brother Printers

brother logo

We studied many different models in the Brother printer family to determine the top ten to include for the sake of this list. Along with reliability and the consistency of the Brother name, we paid close attention to the accuracy in document printing, color shades when using the correct ink, the average number of pages printed per minute, and how long an ink cartridge will last before needing replacement.

Prices of Brother Printers

Depending on how many features you’re looking for in a printer, a Brother model will start around $99.99 for a basic inkjet printer. This will increase as you add on components like wireless connections, color ink capability, and all-in-one inclusion for faxing and copying. The most expensive Brother printer will feature laser printing, the most efficient model for an office that needs to quickly produce large quantities of documents in a short time.

  • OPTIMIZED FOR EFFICIENCY - Engineered with new features, the HL-L2395DW laser printer (replacement for the HLL2380DW) and has been optimized for efficiency, allowing you to print up to 36 pages per minute(1)
  • FASTER, HIGH-QUALITY PRINTS - This monochrome laser printer is built with a 250-sheet paper capacity that helps improve efficiency due to less time spent refilling trays. It also handles both letter and legal-sized paper. Power Source- AC 120V 50/60Hz

This model allows you to print 36 pages of black and white ink per minute, and for the cost, it’s hard to beat this printer, which allows you to send documents from your mobile device directly to the printer. You’re able to place it on your home network through an Ethernet port or a wireless router.

While the HL-2395 doesn’t allow for color printing, this model is an excellent choice for those who make a regular habit of reproducing important documents, coupons, or calendar reminders. This model lacks a tray for receiving your printing, so make sure you have a free hand when it’s finished. A great pick for anyone in need of a printer, copier, and fax machine that can be used from anywhere in the house.

Brother HL-L2320D Mono Laser Printer
  • Print Speed: up to 30ppm; Mono
  • Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface for local connectivity
  • Automatic Duplexing (two sided printing)

Brother’s entry-level printer does only the minimum amount of work necessary to classify itself as a printer. There are no network capabilities, and you won’t be sending anything from a mobile device for printing without putting a document on your PC first.

With that being said, sometimes, all you need is a black-and-white printer that can print concert tickets or vehicle registration verification. Like the 2395, this doesn’t have an output tray, so be careful not to let your printing fall to the ground. Don’t overlook this option if you need or know someone who is in need of a printer that does exactly what printers were designed to do in the first place.

Brother’s relatively inexpensive option for an all-in-one laser color printer does just about anything you could ask for in a document printing device. You can hook this into a wireless network and use a mobile device to queue up your documents and expect about 19 pages per minute to come out.

One thing to keep in mind, if you plan to use this for a professional setting, is the lack of two-sided printing as a feature. Like some other compact Brother models, this doesn’t include any tray for output, so remember that if you have a giant document coming in multiple pages.

Based on all our research, and the needs of different types of people who may need to use a Brother printer, we can’t choose one printer for an all-encompassing choice.

If you need a printer that can replicate a black and white document once in a while and doesn’t cost you too much for the initial investment, we would recommend the 2320. Yes, it’s the cheapest one on the list, and it doesn’t hook up to any networks, but if all you need is a black and white printer for one computer, there’s no reason to spend any more money than necessary on a Brother printer and can still produce 30 pages per minute. If you need color capabilities, the 3170 is your best bet.

If you’re going to be replacing an office printer, the requirements for a Brother printer will be raised substantially. You need a printer that can shoot out lots of paper in a short amount of time, and it might help to have a device capable of sending faxes and making copies all at once.

In this case, we’re putting all our eggs in one basket, just like the MFC-8900CDW. It’s not going to come cheap, but the number of features in this all-in-one device is too rich to ignore, especially if your office relies on teams or divisions and needs a capable device.

If you can sacrifice color but still need network capabilities and the ability to copy or fax, the L5800DW gets our next pick, with its ability to give you 42 pages in a minute. Just remember to set aside the dollars you save toward new ink cartridges – you would be amazed how quickly any printer can go through ink, and it will happen just as you’re preparing to print something incredibly important!

Nintendo Switch Games: The Best Games to Look for in the Market

nintendo switch games

The Nintendo Switch.

A home console that’s portable, the latest hardware from Nintendo was slightly unexpected on release, and people were quick to bash the device. It didn’t have the powerful components that Microsoft’s Xbox One or Sony’s PlayStation did, Nintendo didn’t have an online service, and the company was reeling from the failure of the Wii U.

Yet, even with the odds against it, the console was quick out of the gates. In terms of sales, the Nintendo Switch is the fastest-selling console of all-time.

That’s a hefty record for a device that some had written off during the lead-up to release. How was it possible that a device, with an approach that wasn’t towards graphical fidelity or pure power, could sell so well?

The answer: its games.

The Nintendo Switch, now into year two of release, has a huge catalog of software to play, and most of the titles are very good. These games deliver experiences not necessarily found on Nintendo’s rivals’ systems, giving the Switch immense value for its price. Of course, there are better games than others, and today we’ll look at some of the best Nintendo Switch games out there.

What It Means to Be Among the Best Nintendo Switch Games

nintendo switch with games

To claim your place as one of the best Nintendo Switch games out there, there are a few prerequisites that must be met.

First up, a lot of it comes down to exclusivity. If, for example, a game is released on the Switch, Xbox One, and PS4, that title may not be high on the list, as everyone could feasibly play it. On the other hand, if a game is only found on the Switch, it’s easier to recommend it as a console seller, further entrenching the game as a top choice. Nintendo has a lot of first-party releases, so this normally isn’t a problem.

Also, the game must have all the right ingredients for creating a wonderful experience. That means the standards such as story, music, and graphics are all still considered here. These are all related to the Nintendo Switch console itself, so not being directly compared
to other devices.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the six best Nintendo Switch games.

Sale
Splatoon 2 - Nintendo Switch
  • New weapons - New dual-wielding Splat Dualies join the action, complete with a new Dodge Roll move. Mainstays like the Splat Roller and Splat Charger have also been remixed to include new gameplay mechanics and brand-new special weapons.
  • Local and Online Multiplayer - In a first for the series, compete in local multiplayer Turf War battles, whether in TV mode or on-the-go in handheld or tabletop modes. Online battles also make a return.;Number of Players: up to 8 players; ESRB Content: Cartoon Violence; Genre: Action
  • New ways to play - Play using the Joy-Con controllers or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, both of which allow for gyro controls for better aiming and control.

Are you looking for a new multiplayer game that doesn’t play like anything else out there? Well, Splatoon 2 is your answer.

One of Nintendo’s newest intellectual properties, Splatoon 2 builds on the success of the Wii U game, adding so much more so fans and newcomers alike can throw down together. The game is based upon the original, and some may say it feels like an addition to the first, rather than a standalone second. This isn’t a bad thing, though, as using ink-based weapons to control ground is just as fun as it sounds.

Splatoon 2 - Nintendo Switch

The main game modes, this time around, hover over Turf Wars, Tower Control, and Splat Zone. All play a little different, giving you variety when you want it. Everything runs smoothly, and looks great no matter where you’re playing. Another added touch is the ability to customize your Octoling almost however you want. There are merchants to buy gear from using your online earnings, with some sweet gear to obtain.

The game has come a long way since its launch, recently releasing the Octo Expansion DLC, along with a slew of updates to improve the overall experience. Overall, it’s a great addition to Nintendo Switch games, and you’ll surely want to check it out.

Steamworld Dig 2 - Nintendo Switch
  • Dig your way underground and explore vivid worlds riddled with treasure, secrets and traps.
  • Combat dangerous enemies at every turn of the underworld's twisted paths, including shadowy creatures and the haunted remains of an ancient electrical threat.
  • Upgrade your Gear to forge deeper into the Earth and take on bigger challenges.

Another indie game that found its way to the Nintendo Switch, SteamWorld Dig 2 revisits the steampunk Western genre. It’s a hand-drawn marvel, somewhat of a dying breed in games today.

The game is based on the original SteamWorld Dig¸ returning with the same
gameplay mechanics the original platformer had. That said, it also dives deeper into puzzle solving and sprinkles in RPG elements to keep you busy. The story revolves around robot cowboys and mysterious technology, giving it a sense of scale and wonder. The actual story isn’t amazing, but it doesn’t have to be as the gameplay elements power you through.

Steamworld Dig 2 - Nintendo Switch

Everything looks great and runs the same.  The game plays out based on your own exploration, and requires you to harvest materials. You dig, hence the title, down to find goodies to sell back up at the surface, in which you use to gain your own upgrades and technology. There are different upgrades for different people and playstyles, meaning you can play the game how you want to. This option is always great, as some don’t want to always swing an ax to get ahead in the levels.

There’s not a lot, or any, reason to replay the game once it has been completed. Even though you can hop back into your last save and continuing collecting items and materials, there isn’t a big driving factor to return to the story. It’s a great one-and-done experience, though, and shouldn’t be missed. Plus, being able to play it on-the-go with the Switch is a mighty proposition.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Nintendo Switch
  • Hit the road with the definitive version of Mario Kart 8 and play anytime, anywhere! Race your friends or battle them in a revised battle mode on new and returning battle courses.
  • Play locally in up to 4-player multiplayer in 1080p while playing in TV Mode. Every track from the Wii U version, including DLC, makes a glorious return.;Number of Players: up to 12 players; ESRB Content: ESRB Content Description:Comic Mischief; Genre: Racing
  • Plus, the Inklings appear as all-new guest characters, along with returning favorites, such as King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr.!

One of the most beloved kart-racers of all time was announced for the Switch, many people thought it would just be a rehash of Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. In many ways, it is a part of the Wii U game, which came out in 2014, but that doesn’t make it bad. On the contrary, it’s hard to not find joy when racing around in the hectic mayhem that is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Is it one of the best Nintendo Switch games out there? Yes.

With the new version, you get everything from the get-go, hence the Deluxe in the title. That means that when you buy the game, you’ll have access to 48 courses, along with 42 characters to play as. Nintendo also includes the 200cc speed class, allowing for incredibly-fast races, should you dare to try it.  All the other game modes are still here, but they’ve also revamped the Battle Mode portion to make it more enticing for players to try.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Nintendo Switch

Everything looks and plays great, holding at a smooth 60 frames per second, unless you’re engaging in local coop play where the game drops to 30 frames per second. The graphics aren’t redone, as the game uses the same engine to power everything, but everything has a little added flair running on the Switch. It’s hard to really find a fault with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, simply because
everything plays great and is just so enjoyable.

A stunningly-made game, Celeste is proof that you don’t need to be a household name to be among the gaming greats.

A title that features unforgettable platforming, it also includes a gripping story that hits home in our world today. You follow a young girl named Madeline on a quest to overcome her own struggles, fully-emphasizing with her along the way. It doesn’t just require sympathy, which is rare for a game nowadays, to be able to create those feelings. You care for her, and how she feels. You’ll have to play the game itself to get the full picture, but the 20-hour story is sure to have something for everyone to relate to.

Celeste - Nintendo Switch [Digital Code]

The only reason it’s not higher on our list simply boils down to difficulty: Celeste is hard. For some, this will be a deal-breaker, as they would rather not spend time perfecting their jumps or button presses in a game. Others, though, will gladly accept the challenge, which is akin to Super Meat Boy.

Overall, the title should be played by everyone, if you can, due to the charm, passionate storytelling, and the satisfying 2D pixel-art platforming mechanics. Celeste was a surprise release, one that had been in the making for two years. The developer is working on a physical release, too, so anyone who hasn’t played it should be able to jump in on the fun with an actual cartridge.

Super Mario Odyssey - Nintendo Switch
  • Explore huge 3D kingdoms filled with secrets and surprises, including costumes for Mario and lots of ways to interact with the diverse environments - such as cruising around them in vehicles that incorporate the HD Rumble feature of the Joy-Con controller or exploring sections as Pixel Mario.
  • Thanks to his new friend, Cappy, Mario has brand-new moves for you to master, like cap throw, cap jump and capture. With capture, Mario can take control of all sorts of things, including objects and enemies!;Number of Players: 2 players simultaneous; ESRB Content: Cartoon Violence, Comic Mischief ; Genre: Action, Platformer
  • Visit astonishing new locales, like skyscraper-packed New Donk City, and run into familiar friends and foes as you try to save Princess Peach from Bowser's clutches and foil his dastardly wedding plans.

When you think of Nintendo, what’s the first franchise, or name, that comes to mind? If you answered Mario or Zelda, you’d be in good company, as these are two of Nintendo’s biggest franchises. Mario has been around for over 35 years, and in that time, has appeared in over 250 titles.

With that sort of pedigree, you’d think the Big N would be running out of ideas for their plumber friend. Yet, that doesn’t seem to be the case with his latest feature in Super Mario Odyssey. Building on the 3D sandbox model, the game
delivers a closed, open-world to explore. The main mechanic is new, in the form of possession and Cappy, creating a new dynamic and way to play a Mario game. The story takes you through 16 different worlds, forcing you to discover new ways to play the game.

Super Mario Odyssey - Nintendo Switch

The music, characters, and story are all memorable, and once the story is completed there are plenty more Power Moons to find–specifically, 999 of them. One of the nicest touches to the title, though, is how the game pays homage to older Mario games. There are Easter eggs, or little tidbits of information, sprinkled throughout the entire game, giving you chances to reminisce on past games.

The best thing about Nintendo-developed games is that they truly put in the effort. It’s hard, nowadays, to see a Nintendo game release and not be polished, creative, and fun. The keyword here is fun, and Super Mario Odyssey provides at least 20 hours of fun just to finish the campaign, with so much more to offer after that. It’s easily one of the best Nintendo Switch games out there.

Oh, and you can play it cooperatively too, which is great.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch
  • Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games.
  • Travel across vast fields, through forests, and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the kingdom of Hyrule In this stunning Open-Air Adventure.;Number of Players: 1 player
  • Now on Nintendo Switch, your journey is freer and more open than ever. Take your system anywhere, and adventure as Link any way you like.

The other name people think of when talking about Nintendo is Zelda. For the franchise’s latest release, the developers did something a little different for the game: a vast, open world. Sure, Zelda games in the past have had worlds to explore, with Hyrule Kingdom taking center stage, but there has never been a fully-open world to explore.

Of course, that’s not the only reason to fall in love with Breath of the Wild. One of the biggest, and best, launch titles ever for a console, Breath of the Wild released the same day the Switch did, helping to power sales and boost confidence in Nintendo’s latest console.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch

The best part about the game is that you’re thrown into the land of Hyrule, and can do as you please. Everything is put into the world for a reason, and has a specific use for you to find out. You’re encouraged to explore as much, or as little, as you’d like, and that’s hard to balance.

There’s not much else to say regarding Breath of the Wild, other than you need to play it.

The Nintendo Switch Has Amazing Titles

It’s hard to imagine a device that, after only 15 months of being released, has some of the best Nintendo titles of the modern era. A device that was originally written off by skeptics, the Switch has since blossomed into a force that people crave to play. Even now, you might be eagerly awaiting the next Pokémon release.

The point is that Nintendo is constantly pumping out solid games to play, with plenty of titles on the horizon, too. That alone gives anyone a reason to buy a Switch. You can, now, find them in-stock around the country at most electronics stores, which is a change from
the initial launch.

If you haven’t been able to play any of the games listed, be sure to put them on your radar. It’d be a shame if you were to miss one of the experiences above. They all represent a different genre of game, for the most part, meaning you won’t overlap titles in the same
playstyle. Keep in mind, too, this list doesn’t even include titles like Bayonetta, Hollow Knight, or Stardew Valley.

It is becoming harder and harder to see a company and studio continue to show its greatness, but Nintendo seemingly is leading the pack, especially when talking about Nintendo Switch games.
